First Steps - Learning the Stock Market
The first step to learning the stock market is to master the basics and establish a firm foundation upon which all your education can be based. Without learning the proper fundamentals, a trader has little or no chance to be successful. It all starts with education and unless you are prepared to invest some time and money in a thorough stock market education, you're more than likely to lose your money in a hurry and undermine your own efforts.
Where can you find information to learn the market? Here are few suggestions:
- Take a comprehensive class and see which area of the stock market is of the most interest. - Go online and find a list of free education material that's available from the various online brokerage houses. Many of these sites offer tutorials that will walk you through the first steps it takes to learning about the market.
- Talk to a friend has been successful in the stock market and ask for advice. They'll probably be flattered you ask and can possibly be a long-term source of information and help. At the very least, you'll have a kindred spirit in your quest to learn about the stock market.
