Located between San Francisco and San Jose, Stanford University is known as one of the world's leading research and teaching institutions. Founded in1891 by Jane and Leland Stanford, the university is unique having been founded as a coeducational institution during a period where institutions of higher learning were predominantly all male.
Stanford University is home to seven specific and distinct schools that provide specialized instruction to students. The Graduate School of Business provides instruction in finance and business. Most students that attend this school pursue a curriculum to obtain a Masters in Business Administration. Even though most students attend as matriculated students the school does allow individuals to learn about the stock market through classes on the subject. As part of the business school curriculum students are introduced to stocks even though there do not provide a specific stock market school. The School of Humanities and Sciences is Stanford's liberal arts college that prepares students for careers in the arts, language, literature and the sciences. Master degrees in these disciplines are also available. In Addition to the law, Stanford Law School provides joint degrees in business, computer sciences, and engineering. Stanford also provides a School of Medicine, and a School of Continuing Studies.
