North Western University

Located in Evanston, Illinois and downtown Chicago is one of Illinois most respected private institution of higher learning. Founded in1851, the school is organized around eleven schools and colleges with approximately 8,300 undergraduate students and 9,700 graduate students attending each year. Northwestern grants around 2,000 bachelor degrees and 3,500 graduate degrees annually. The school's name was derived from its original goal to serve the citizens of the former Northwest Territory which now makes up the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Originally founded as part of the Methodist Church, the founding charter granted the school a permanent exemption from paying property taxes which has created political issues between the school and local government.

In addition to the Schools of Law, and The Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern is known for its Kellogg School of Management which is continually ranked as one of the best business schools in the country. It is the Kellogg school that provides the best opportunity for students to gain a stock investment education, learn stock investing basics, and find out more about stock market history. The business school is located in Evanston, Chicago, and Miami, and provides both an undergraduate and graduate curriculum in business and business management. Because of its stature its admission requirements are highly competitive and it accepts only a small percentage of the candidates who apply each year. The business school offers a full-time, part-time, and executive program to obtain either a MBA or a PhD in business. Although the business school is designed for students wishing to pursue careers in business, the continuing education department does allow students to take individual courses in stock market basics and does allow students to create the own program to obtain a stock market education.
