Harvard University

Established in 1636, Harvard University is the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States. It services approximately 20,000 students with a majority enrolled in graduate or professional programs. Harvard is consistently rated as one of the best universities in the world regarded and is one of the wealthiest with a financial endowment of approximately $28.8 billion.

Students looking to establish careers in finance or investing in the market will probably have the greatest interest in Harvard Business School. Established almost a century ago the business schools conducts three programs, a doctorate program, and Executive MBA program, and a 2 year MBA program. The business school focuses on delivering finance classes, investment education, and some stock market education. Most of the training in the stock market comes about as part of more diverse classes on general finance.

The Harvard Business School is extremely competitive. Of the approximately 9,000 applications received in the MBA program every year only about 12% are admitted to enroll. The doctoral program is even more competitive with only 6% of the 600 applications admitted into the program. The business school also offers an undergraduate education in business and finance. The undergraduate school allows some students that are not matriculated to take one of courses on investing and receive a specialized stock market education.
